Best Wire-Free Robot Lawn Mowers 2026: A Sourced Shortlist by Yard Type

By MowBotGuide Research Desk · Published October 24, 2026 · Sources checked October 24, 2026

The robot mower market has moved past the buried boundary wire. Every model on this page maps your lawn from an app using RTK satellite positioning, LiDAR, cameras, or a mix. Below we sort current models by the job they’re built for, using only the brands’ own specs and US store prices.

Short version: Small, simple yard on a budget? Look at the Anthbot Genie or Navimow i2 AWD. Trees and tight side yards? A LiDAR model like the Mammotion YUKA mini 2 or Navimow i215 LiDAR. Steep hills? Only the Mammotion LUBA family (80%) and Navimow X4 (84%) state slopes above 45%. Not sure? Use the yard sizing calculator.

How we built this list

We didn’t test these mowers. We compared brand-stated rated area, maximum slope and navigation type, and the price on each brand’s official US store on October 24, 2026. Several prices are temporary sales (compare-at prices noted). Pick a model rated for at least ~20% more area than your lawn (our rule of thumb; see About).

Best value for open, simple lawns: Anthbot Genie

Anthbot Genie (600 / 1000 / 3000)

  • Price checked Oct 24, 2026: Genie 600 (0.22 acre) $799, 600e with 4G $699, Genie 1000 (0.49 acre) $799, Genie 3000 (0.89 acre) $899, all marked down from listed compare-at prices.
  • Brand-stated specs: RTK positioning plus 300° vision, 45% (24°) slope “from Anthbot Lab”, IPX6, operating noise within 58 dB.
  • Fits: open lawns with good sky view where you want the most rated area per dollar. At these sale prices the larger Genie 3000 costs only $100 more than the 1000.
  • Watch for: it relies on RTK, so heavily treed yards are a weaker fit; check the listing for how its RTK reference station is set up.

Best for mixed yards: fusion navigation

If you have both open lawn and treed corners, models that combine LiDAR with RTK hedge against each one’s weak spot: the Navimow H2 ($1,799 / $2,199), Mammotion LUBA 3 and Anthbot M9 Pro ($1,399, 1,000 m², 45%, per Anthbot). Learn why in wire-free vs boundary wire.

Before you buy

  1. Measure your grass, not your lot. A free satellite map tool works.
  2. Find your steepest spot. A 1 ft rise over 4 ft is a 25% grade.
  3. Count zones and check the passages between them.
  4. Check ongoing costs. Navimow lists its Connect+ service at $32.90/year after the free period; Mammotion sells 4G service at $49.90/year; Anthbot lists 4G at $39.99/year (all checked Oct 24, 2026). Ask each brand what stops working without it.
  5. Confirm the price on the brand page. Sales here may have ended.
